Don’t Drink & Dial

Its 2 AM on a Friday night.  Your speech is slurred, the room is spinning, the bar is closing, and you are about to go home drunk and ALONE when a “bright” idea pops into your head… You want to call your ex-gf to tell her how much you miss her (maybe to tell her how big a bitch she is), or maybe its the fat girl you met last weekend for a “nightcap”, or even your boss to tell him how big of an asshole he is.Unfortunately too many of us are familiar with these scenarios as they have become incredibly common since the invention of the cell phone.  If only there was away to prevent all this from happening…?

Well soon there might be a way… Korean cell phone manufacturer LG Electronics, according to ABC News, has gone a step further with the party gimmicks. LG’s LP4100 brand, to be released in the U.S. later this year, not only makes calls, it can stop them when you need it to most! (Source: ABC)

The LP4100 has a built-in breathalyzer that, when blown into by an intoxicated party goer, gives a warning and displays a fun little animation of a car swerving on a road and crashing into traffic cones (Simple for the drunk to understand… I hope).

The phone can be programmed to block selected numbers in the address book – bosses, moms, exes -if the breath analyzer records a blood-alcohol concentration over 0.08.

It’s already a hit in Korea, where more than 200,000 of LG’s Breathalyzer-type phones have been sold.

It seems this gadget was released back in 2006 by LG out in Korea… Anyone have any info if something similar has been released in the US? Or will it be?
