As a follow up from my post “For The Ladies Out There” from yesterday, I would like to share my solution for those unlucky husbands/boyfriends who are being dragged to this chick flick extravaganza (Sex and The City Movie) tonight or over the weekend:
Just a Flask… Nothing fancy. Fill it with your favorite liquor or mix (might I suggest straight Tequila for this monstrosity), stick it in your pocket, and you’re set.
One thing to remember however… You are in a packed movie theatre with probably over a hundred women who love this show. Do NOT, under any circumstances, do anything to take away from this experience for your wife/gf or any of the other women in the room or you may experience a pain like you’ve never experienced before… Read the rest of this entry »
As I’m sure you all know Sex and The City will be released in theatres in the Continental US tonight at midnight. If you’re lucky enough to have purchased tickets in advance maybe you’d enjoy one of these prior to the show.
Courtesy of Lisa Rufle over at Suite101.com I bring you the Sex and The City Character Cocktails:
The Carrie Drink
2 ounces premium brand vodka
1 ounce X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
2 ounces cranberry juice
3/4 ounce sparkling apple cider
Ditections:
Shake Vodka, X-Rated and cranberry with ice and strain into chilled martini glass. Top with cider and garnish with a thin apple slice.
Drinking is one thing, making it a game is another. In this case, we were looking into finding something different from all these casual drinking games. To be honest with you, we just enjoy drinking, more so playing along! Scrabble is a nice game, definitely played by everyone. If you don’t know how to play, well, the rules are kinda simple, and once you get the flow, nothing’s gonna stop ya!
We decided to take the rules to the next level, make it a ‘real’ game, or maybe a pre-game! Read the rest of this entry »
Pinstripes in the Park (Tonight, 5/28, 5:30 PM - 11 PM) is a yearly NYC event held on the Bryant Park Lawn.
FEATURES:
A big screen to watch the game - Tonight’s game is Yankees vs. Baltimore
A Free blanket & prizes (Continental Airlines is the sponsor. They give away 2 free airline tickets)
Plenty of Yankee Legends on hand - This year’s list includes Al Leiter, Graig Nettles, Bucky Dent, & Mike Torrez (The legends tent will be open from 6 PM - 7:30 PM).
Concessions and Vendors as well as two beer tents in back of the lawn.
Suggestions:
I went to this event last year for the first time. If you plan on drinking (I only assume you do if you read my site), BYOB. I suggest bringing a backpack with a bottle of wine/beer and some solo cups (real classy I know), or a flask and some soda. The Beer Tents do not have a good view of the screen and are way in the back of the lawn. Concessions are also on the outskirts of the lawn, so if you prefer not to have to get up (As the concessions do not come around to you as they do at the stadium), bring some food as well.
For those of you who are not from the Tri-State Area (PA, NY, NJ) Belmar is a spot down along the Jersey Shore that is a popular Summer destination. Memorial Day Weekend generally marks the first “big” weekend down there.
So why is this of interest you ask? Well… You know those popped collar, fist pumping meatheads you hear so much about:
Often times I come across a blog that just makes me smile. Sometimes due to clever commentary, sometimes due to the content, and more times than not due to the pictures. In this case it happens to be all three. Read the rest of this entry »

New from Riedel, this series of decanters takes its inspiration from birds for a collection that’s as striking as it is functional.
While the Swan (above right) and Paloma (top) feature sloping tails that double as handles and a curved neck serves as a drip-free spout, the Flamingo (above left) takes a cue from a traditional wine bottle. A deep indent in the bottom for the thumb provides stability with which to pour wine out of the nearly two-foot tall decanter. Each holds a bottle of wine and all are limited in quantity.
I walked into a Mickey D’s with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a
sandwich. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little
chalkboard that said ‘buy one-get one free.’
“They’re already buy-one-get-one-free,” she said, “so I guess they’re both
free.” She handed me my free sandwiches and I walked out the door.
They Walk Among Us…
My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were
discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The cashier
multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount.
