The Shiso Mojito
So I was down in Brooklyn the other night at this restaurant called Bozu and I had one of the BEST Mojito’s I’ve ever had. So I came home and looked it up to see if i could find this amazing recipe and low and behold this is what I found…
Shiso Mojito Ingredients
For this cocktail, you will need:
- 2-3 fresh limes
- 4-6 shiso mint leaves
- 2-3 teaspoons sugar
- 2 ounces light rum
- 1 ounce Brazil cachac
- dash of key lime juice
Tear the Shiso Mint Leaves
Step one is to cut the limes and put the slices in a stir glass. Then tear the shiso mint leaves. Shiso is a Japanese mint leaf we usually use for Japanese cooking. Shiso is going to give the mojito its unique flavor.
Combine the Shiso Mojito Ingredients
Next, put the Japanese brown sugar - its called kibi sato - and simply squeeze the limes. Now I’m mixing lime, shiso, and brown sugar.
The next step is to add two ounces of light rum, one ounce of Brazilian cachaca, and a dash of key lime. And shake it! That’s a shiso mojito.
